He has appeared there and performed to sold-out crowds with his annual birthday tribute to Eric Clapton for the past 15 years. After hearing Godfrey jamming on some Cream tunes in a club one night, Eric Claptons guitar tech, Lee Dickson commented to John Entwistle..."This guys got Clapton down better than Clapton!" Guitarist/Vocalist Godfrey Townsend and his band perform a repertoire of music spanning over 3 decades of the much loved guitar legend Eric Clapton’s career……From the ‘60s Classic Rock anthem, “Sunshine Of Your Love” to 1996’s Grammy winning “Change The World” as well as all the greatest hits along the way such as, “Layla”, “I Shot The Sheriff”, “Lay Down Sally”, “Wonderful Tonight”, and “Tears In Heaven”.
